Woven by nature
MOLLIE Aspen is a 68-room luxury boutique hotel that occupies a prime location in downtown Aspen, Colorado. MOLLIE is designed for those with a natural curiosity and appreciation for connection and offers visitors a unique, welcoming respite in the bustling mountain town. The hotel’s name honors the town’s most successful silver mine, Mollie Gibson, which originated in the late 19th century and served as a catalyst for the town’s early economic, social, and cultural progress. Drawing inspiration from the many individuals that shaped Aspen throughout its history, MOLLIE embodies the spirit of their restless enthusiasm for the outdoors, ability to bring people together and passion for art, design and freedom of expression. MOLLIE’s warmth and graciousness as a host to visitors and locals alike can be found in the hotel’s design, food & beverage, and service.
MOLLIE comes from HayMax, a leading local development firm, who enlisted award-winning studios Post Company to design the hotel’s interiors and CCY Architects as the project architect. Through a subtle lens of contemporary Scandinavian and Japanese design, the hotel thoughtfully embodies a sense of understated luxury. MOLLIE’s unique accommodations are social yet offer an equal amount of respite. The residential-style guest rooms are designed for the use and ease of each guest, with bespoke amenities including bath products by Swedish brand L:A Bruket, Parachute 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, complimentary Sightglass coffee and an assortment of teas, a Fellow electric kettle, Waterworks fixtures including a rainfall shower, Coyuchi organic robes, and a curated mini bar.
MOLLIE holds a commitment to a reduction of excess through its interiors that thoughtfully utilize materials from Aspen and the Western U.S., accentuated with natural woods, earthen ceramics, hand-dyed textiles and sand-casted brass. These materials are incorporated throughout the hotel to mimic the area’s rough-hewn mountains while large windows frame views of the surrounding landscape and bring an abundance of light into the hotel. MOLLIE’S commitment to sustainability is also reflected in its partnership with electric vehicle company Rivian, offering guests access to a fleet of eco-friendly vehicles to take on bespoke adventure experiences throughout Aspen.
Artwork by well-known contemporary artists, as well as vintage furniture, are featured throughout MOLLIE’s public spaces and guest rooms. A highlight of the hotel’s art program is a substantial woven installation by textile artist Rachel Snack, which can be found alongside the lobby’s large fireplace. Guests are left with a sense of Aspen’s cultural and recreational history, providing a lens to appreciate its contemporary personality and influence.
The dining spaces are designed to invite gatherings, from morning coffee to evening cocktails, and consist of a lobby restaurant and bar with year-round heated outdoor seating, a laid-back all-day café, and a serviced roof terrace featuring a spa pool with unobstructed views of Aspen Mountain.
