The Fourth of July Itinerary in Aspen

The Fourth of July is one of the most celebrated events of the summer in Aspen. The beautiful summer days, mixed with the holiday always have the town buzzing with excitement. With the holiday falling on a Saturday this year, it’s the perfect excuse to turn it into a long weekend.

Here’s a curated itinerary to spend the Fourth of July in Aspen.

 

Thursday

4 PM: Arrive to MOLLIE Aspen and get settled into your room, before heading out for the evening.

5:30 PM: Make your way to Petit Familia to enjoy live music, cocktails, and a few pre-dinner bites.

7:00 PM: Dinner at Wayan Aspen.

9 PM: Grab a drink at Hooch Aspen to round out the evening.

Friday

9 AM: Spend the morning at the Aspen Farmer’s Market, where you can grab coffee and snacks while discovering vendors. It’s traditionally held on Saturdays during the summer season, this year’s holiday moved the event a day early.

10:30 AM: Check out a Bluejay e-bike at MOLLIE and explore town on two wheels. Ride through the West End along the Rio Grande Trail, or simply cruise around at your own pace.

1:00 PM: Stop for pizza at Mt. Rubirosa, located at the base of Aspen Mountain.

3:00 PM: Rent a paddleboard through Blazing Adventures, and spend the afternoon floating through North Star Preserve.

8 PM: Enjoy dinner at Campo de Fiori.

Saturday

9:30 AM: Start your day with breakfast at Petit Trois Aspen.

11 AM: Head downtown for Aspen’s annual Fourth of July parade.

12:15 PM: Grab some lunch at the Aspen Art Museum and spend the day browsing exhibits, and other shops and galleries around town.

4:00 PM: Catch a performance at the Klein Music Tent as part of the Aspen Music Festival and School’s summer season.

7:00 PM: Dinner at Betula Aspen.

8:45 PM: Pick up something sweet from Paradise Bakery.

9:30 PM: Find a spot in Wagner Park to watch Aspen Fourth of July drone show over Aspen Mountain.

10 PM: End the night with a celebratory cocktail in the Living Room of Hotel Jerome.

Sunday

8:30 AM: Grab coffee and pastries from the Cafe at MOLLIE.

9:00 AM: Hike Smuggler Mountain for views overlooking Aspen and the surrounding peaks.

12:30 PM: Take the gondola to the top of Ajax Mountain. Grab lunch and a drink from the Sundeck, find a seat outside, and enjoy Bluegrass Sundays, with live music from the mountaintop.

3:30 PM: Head back to MOLLIE for a slower afternoon on the Roof Terrace. Dip in the spa pool, enjoy the sunshine and take in the views.

7:00 PM: Order room service and enjoy a quiet evening in.

Monday

9:00 AM: Have one last breakfast at Sant Ambroeus, located in downtown Aspen.

11:00 AM: Check out of MOLLIE Aspen, and start planning your next visit back.
